Letter to the Editor My first thought this morning was where am I and what year is this? What an outrage, a dog owner takes a hammer to a dogs head and it is humane. Since when? What now, your dog is ill and you can not afford a vet no problem just crack it in the head as long it is dies relatively quick it is OK... No!!!! It is pathetic to think in this country where we punish a man for "jacking a deer" to feed is family is criminal but killing a 5lb dog with a hammer is ok as long as you are the dogs owner... True, I am a dog owner, also a volunteer and supporter of the SPCA but I also wonder...Where and when is the line going to be drawn. Where is the common sense we are in Canada and it is 2009 but today we might as well be in Dodge! What a shame!!!!
