In 1964 Parker in England (Newhaven) introduced a budget fountain pen, the 17 Duofold, and in 1964 this migrated to become just the model 17. This pen is the 17 Super, with the wide rolled gold cap band and clip and black cap and barrel jewels. The 17 has a hooded section but not the more expensive tubular nib of the 51 and the section leaves more of the nib exposed (a bit like the Waterman Taperite). The pen has a slip cap and an aerometric style filler.
The hooded 14k nib is an extra-fine point and a nice smooth writer.
The barrel imprint is ‘PARKER 17 MADE IN ENGLAND”.
Closed the pen is 13.5cm and with the cap posted about 14.5cm.
The pen appears to have had little use and is in excellent condition. The rolled cap cap band and clip have no brassing, the barrel imprint is crisp and the pen works well.
