An early Meisterstück 149 in Resin, after the celluloid model from the 1950s. This pen dates from c1972, dated by the nib, the bi-colour 14C nib, the ebonite feed and the piston filler ring, which is rounded, convex the same as the 1950s pens rather than the flat ring of later 149 pens. (This dating information comes from Barry Gabay’s very useful document on the 149.)
The 14C nib is a fine to medium point, very smooth and with nice flex.
The cap band has the imprint “Montblanc Meisterstück No. 149”. Penso fhtis date do not have a serial number, which was added later to address the increase in fake 149s.
The pen is in excellent condition and from a golden era for these iconic pens.
