This limited edition sold out in 2006
Operation Enduring Freedom was the US military response to 9/11. Peter F Bertrand was a New York police officer disabled in the line of duty who designed this pen with Acme Studio. The pen was released in a limited edition of 911 rollerball pens in 2002 and quickly sold out. Since then it has already increased in value several times. Two are listed on eBay at $475 an d $525.
The pen has a brass body to which is applied by hand the graphic design, sealed with lacquer. Peter F Bertrand’s signature is on the cap band. More information is in the Acme Studio archive, reproduced here:
