In April a year ago, 2017, Montblanc discontinued production of the Boheme series. This pen is a Boheme Rouge, with the red stone in the clip, gold plated in the milleries pattern with an 18k medium nib.
The Boheme is based on the design of Montblanc vintage safety pens but with the convenience of using ink cartridges rather than an eye-dropper. The nib is housed in the barrel of the pen, opened by posting the cap on the barrel threads and turning it until the nib locks into position. The cartridges are loaded and unloaded by opening a cap at the end of the barrel and turning it to open the cartridge chamber. The pen is beautifully engineered so that these mechanisms work precisely. The design makes for a very compact pen, just 11 cm (4 ¼ inches) closed and a comfortable 13.5cm (5 ¼ inches) open to use. This compact design together with the use of cartridges make the Boheme the ideal Montblanc for travel.
Condition: mint, never inked and complete with the presentation case, card box and outer sleeve and the documents.
