I thought this one would go pretty quickly, but here it still is. I guess I must have overestimated the value of this. But I'd really like to get it off of my desk top and add a few bucks to the Christmas fund, so I'm knocking the price down to something I think is close to a steal. A flexible, faceted, gold nibbed Omas for $235 shipped. It's a big box too, so not cheap to ship!
For sale is an Omas Signum limited edition desk pen set. This is sort of a new old Omas. It was a limited edition from 1995, but using a stock of vintage 14k 585 nibs. It features a glass base and tulip in matching faceted resin with gold plated trim ring.
The pen is Omas's vegetal resin, with an octagonal faceted barrel and rounded section and taper. The pen is a piston filler. It's marked Omas Signum with an LE number- #76/100. The pen is substantial. Lined up against my Arco Paragon, the nib is the same size, and the taper begins just before the end of the Paragon. It's a nice, substantial pen. The pen is a piston filler, using the taper as the piston knob.
The nib is marked Omas 585, but using an older design. The nib isn't marked for size. I think it's supposed to be a fine, maybe medium. It flexes from finish to pretty broad. It's smooth for regular use, and gives nice feedback.
The set is NM/NOS. It doesn't look like it has been inked before. I tested the piston filler and there was a little residual color coming out, but that may have been from dipping it to do the writing sample. But it looks pretty much new, and the glass base is in new condition. The set comes with box and papers, though the base isn't quite a perfect fit for the cut out in the box. Odd.
I'd like $400 shipped for this set. NOW $299 NOW $235
