A very beautiful Waterman’s 554 lever filler, black hard rubber with a solid gold filigree overlay, all in fine condition. The pen has an inscription in Hebrew on the indicia.
The model imprint on the end of the barrel is crisp, “554” as is the imprint on the barrel:
“WATERMAN’S REG.US>PAT.OFF MADE IN U.S.A.”
The indicia has an nice engraving in Hebrew, to “Whal Lablo” from his writer friends.
The #4 nib is a fine to medium, almost a stub point and a smooth flexible writer.
Closed the pen is 13.6cm (5 3/8 inches) and when the cap is posted, 18.2cm (6 ¾ inches).
This is a very fine example of a classic Waterman’s filigree pattern. All the more so being in solid 14 carat gold.
Condition: fine, no signs of any wear, filigree is in excellent condition, the black hard rubber is perfect, with no fading and the imprints are all perfectly crisp. The pen shows no signs of significant use. The #4 nib has lots of iridium and is a very smooth writer.
