Wow, Karen, I am so sorry, and I realize I am very late in my sympathy, just today saw it. I remember all the things you spoke of. I remember perhaps more importantly, how kind she was to the me, to my sisters. Many times we went there with just no quite enough money , and always, she overlooked that, and treated us. I remember few things in Jal as kind, but I remember her kindness to us. My last name used to be Jayroe. Now I could by the town of Jal a snowcone... but not then, I couldn't buy myself one."sister" Dunn was a person tucked in my memory as the kind I wanted to be someday.
