Just a note to say hello to everyone back home. I've not been down south since mom passed away 4 years ago this coming October, WOW how time slips away. Rick and I are hoping to get down that way later this year as soon as our daughter Tifany's college soccer season if over (last game is the end of Oct). We are childless at our home now since Ricky, Byron, and Tifany all moved out on their own. I sure do miss seeing them everyday but I definatley don't miss the battling stereos with different music blaring from the three bedrooms. Ya know one of the hardest things in the world to do is convince your kids that like them, you too were young at one time in your life, that you too lacked in wisdom and lifes experiences when compared to your parents, that alot of your actions were also impulsive with the consideration of consequences when they were slapping you in the face, and that one day they too would be telling their children "You will understand what I mean, and realize that I do know what I'm talking about when you are raising your kids"; as well as "You will pay for your raising when you have children". I'm sure we can all remember the pros and cons of believing as teenager that we knew more and had experienced more of lifes challenges than our parents could ever image to have known or done. The happiest and most satisfying days are those when they will actually come back and tell you "mom (or dad) I should have listened to you more often because you really did know what you were talking about". Kids!!! I would not go through life again without those three gifts God blessed our life with by sharing each unique one with their own personalities to love, mold, teach, and cherish for eternity. We do miss the daily rat chase, but now Rick and I have extra time to do some of the things we enjoy like our bowling leagues, riding our Harley, dancing, hanging out with friends and family, and of course we can't forget the most enjoyable activity we all do--that 3 letter dirty word "job".
