Really disappointing and even disgusting to see that Tatars and Bashkirs are count among the Bulgarians. First of all, Volga Bulgars are of Turkic origin. Secondly, it is non-sense to postulate that epistemological roots of the word 'Bulgar' are Slavic. Bulgar is a 100% Turkic-origin word. Last, but not the least, Volga Bulgars have adopted Tatar name after Chengiz Han's conquests into Europe.b
