Chechenians are not savages. They are just fighting for their freedom against an enemy, who wants all of them dead. It is a war of survival. Also have a look at the konchalovski film "House of fools" to get some other impression about these people. The film is based on a true story. I have heard this rumours about the bulgarian origin of the chechenians, but I haven't encountered some serious research. If somebody knows something about this, I would be glad to hear.
