Why they sided with Huns ?Why those days , Bulgaria is to join NATO ? I think , there were reasons serious enough to do so.As a practical man I see it like that : Bulgars had an option to stand up Huns , and to face victory , but at the terrible price , or defeat with even worse consequences. There was option to ally themselves wit Huns , and to retain all the authonomy , and even benefit from victorious campaings. Obviously , there was intermixing , and dinastig marriages.Bulgars also , after Huns became history, stayed open konfederation , accepting numerous tribes , process which enabled them to survive for so long.
