Now, I found fascinating the photo of the current King and Queen of Spain standing next to the tomb of his direct ancestress, Eleanor of Castile, Queen of England, as the 1st wife of King Edward I of England (she died 727 years ago at the age of about 49 years). This Eleanor's own great-grandmother and namesake was Eleanor of England, Queen of Castile. One Eleanor of Castile married one English king and another Eleanor, this time of England, married the king of Castile. Interesting. I suppose this great-grandmother...Eleanor of England, Queen of Castile....was buried in a royal tomb in Spain, was she? The current king and queen would already have seen the plain tomb of King Edward I, his direct ancestor, too (next to his 1st wife).
Glad to know the Spanish king got a chance to see these tombs of his ancestors at Westminster Abbey. Who knows when he would be able to get another chance to see them?
Also, I know Princes William and Harry and King Felipe VI are tall men, but looking at Harry and the king in one of these pictures made me realize the latter is taller than both Harry and William.
On a different note: Princess Anne did a great curtsey to both the King and Queen of Spain in some of these pictures.
