Palace Square, 9 May, 5:30 pm
There will be a drill demonstration with His Majesty The King’s Guard, and singing and music by the choral group Soul Children. At 6:30 pm the King and Queen will walk out on the Palace Balcony along with many of their royal guests, and everyone present is invited to sing the birthday son.
Actor Bjarte Hjelmeland will conclude the celebration by reading a monologue for the King and Queen.
In the evening a gala banquet will be held at the Royal Palace. Guests in formal attire will arrive at the Royal Palace from 7:00–7:15 pm.
Honnørbrygga dock, 10 May, 11:00 am
The Norwegian Royal Yacht Norge will take the King and Queen and their guests on a short cruise of the Oslo fjord. The guests will depart for the yacht from Honnørbrygga dock at City Hall pier. The Danish guests will travel from the Danish Royal Yacht KS Dannebrog, which will be docked at the pier beneath Akershus Fortress.
Along Karl Johans gate, 10 May, 6:15 pm
The Government will host a gala banquet for the King and Queen and their guests at the Oslo Opera House. His Majesty The King’s Guard with lead the procession down Karl Johans gate. They will march from the Royal Palace to the Oslo Opera House at 6:15 pm. At 6:30 pm the royal guests from Norway and abroad will drive behind them in a motorcade. The royal guests will arrive at the opera house beginning at 6:40 pm, and the King and Queen will arrive last, at 7:00 pm.
The Palace banquet is expected to be white-tie, while the government banquet will be black-tie.
