Well actually, I did expect this may be a suggested reason. I would not be surprised that the PoW's environmental views are her reason, if indeed, she does not use it, and it appears she does not. 
As a matter of fact I am all for hairspray. I do not have a problem with anyone using it. I have very short hair; so rarely need it. However when I do, I even use the aerosol kind as it sprays on much finer and my hair looks more natural than when using the non-aerosol kind. You don't need to get too upset thought I would guess it goes 15 to 20 between buying cans of hairspray. Like I said, I use it rarely.
