The custom in Vietnam for women is to wear the ao dao, the loose pants with long tunic over the top, not long dresses. On formal occasions the ao dao is made in more luxurious form compared to the everyday wear worn as anything from a school uniform, to office wear, to the uniform worn by female vietnamese flight attendants.
