Interesting to see both wives of Henry who committed adultery (according to him) and who as a result were beheaded are buried next to each other. Poor Anne and Catherine! By the way, I am curious where Anne's brother George Boleyn (who was beheaded due to treason [for adultery] against Henry VIII) was buried. Was he also buried at the Tower of London or at his family estate (where ever it was)?
As for Elizabeth's effigy on top of her sister's grave, I guess it might be due to insufficient space at Westminster Abbey so the two sisters were stacked grave to grave (like a pancake) or maybe Queen Mary I died first before Queen Elizabeth I.....so by the time of Elizabeth's death, it was decided she was to be buried right on top of Mary I's. Was it?? All of Henry's legitimate children are buried at Westminister Abbey. Henry VIII and his wives are buried elsewhere. What about Henry VIII's infant children (born to his first two wives)? Where are they buried?
As for Henry's siblings (Arthur, Margaret, Mary, two others who died in infancy), where are they buried? (and their parents, of course)
