I agree that her hair is a bit too casual for the tiara. That said, I think the Duchess of Gloucester is lovely.
My friend Jim was in London at an event to honor Kip Forbes. He was signing the guest book and turned around and handed the pen to the closest person. Turns out, it was the Duchess of Gloucester. He was reprimanded by his friends for not bowing. He told me, "I was so embarassed. I was suppose to bow and instead I passed her the pen!"
