Well, I beg to differ.
If one reads the explanation given by EricVdV one will know why these blackfaced people were around at the circus.
I added the St. Nicolaas and Black Peters information to emphasize that in the Benelux countries there's a different point of view about the subject of black faced people!!
BTW, the info about the December special celebrations & all that comes with it has been posted countless times on various Boards, so most posters are aware of these different 'traditions.
Some of you celebrate Halloween to name another example and others have "St. Maarten" where children sing songs and get sweets (nov. 11) !!
If I were to post pics of the Dutch & Belgian royal youngsters from these occasions (or with Sinterklaas and Black Peters) I would add the background info too!!
Yes, different countries and different attitudes.
Just like when one of the pics in a series of royal ladies involves one wearing fur.
Very predictable knowing where most comments will be coming from.
Same as now, with the black faces.
If people just would accept that we all are different, live in different cultures and that the Internet is a great way of communication & information ...it would all be so much easier to keep a light tone on these Boards
