Strangely enough, I just came back from a business conference in Milan dedicated to the Giordanian-Italian relationship, where the various people mentioned in this tread were present!
I was still in line for the security while Emanuele Filiberto arrived, alone and privately (even if in the special guests line). Shortly later, after a series of Italian Ministers and authorities, their majesties arrived and passed at a few meters from me. I could see them very well, the king smiling while shaking hands with the hosts (mayor, president of the Region Lombardy, etc.) and surprisingly - being just a business conference - the queen. She did not look "glittering", but radiant. Marvellous.
I do not know whether the royals know Emanuele Filiberto, but likely in the vip area of the conference they must have met or being introduced.
