State Visits are also often replaced by 'Official Visits' with a lower protocollair standing. This to avoid grand gala banquets and other tralala and to focus on political contacts.
I have controlled my country (the Netherlands) and in 2009:
- Official Visit of the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima to various states in the Arabic Gulf region 
- Official Visit of President Karzai of Afghanistan (only a lunch at the Queen's private residence) 
- State Visit of the King and Queen of Sweden to the Netherlands 
- State Visit of the President Bachelet of Chile to the Netherlands 
- Official Visit of the President of Russia and Mrs Svetlana Medvedeva 
- Official Visit of the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima to New York and Washington 
- This month: State Visit of Queen Beatrix, the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima to Mexico
