Oprah,
This is not a question, or anything you need to respond too. But, I watched the Ingurual events, and was moved. I hope and PRAY that Obama can do something for our country. GOD knows we need it. But, I have a hard time with our country "booing" our out-going President. Which in my Arkansas background is totally disrespectful You honor someone who has served your country. I was borned and raised in Arkansas, and taught by God-fearing, good Christian parents that you honor those that serve you. Bush, did that, he kept us safer after 911, and to dishonor him when he departs office, is to me; a lack of countrymen, a lack of pulling together as a nation. A TOTAL disrespect. I'm ashamed for those Americans that "booed" our outgoing President. I know in my heart Mr. Bush and his wife Laura, are good, decent, God-fearing people, and I was appauled by the way our countrymen and countrywomen treated this man.I know many may not like the man, but respect the office he departed from. DON'T EVERY "BOO" A PRESIDENT. It should be in our nature to be supportive no matter what side of the fense you sit on. Whether Democratates or Republicians, we still are all on the same side. The side of America. Now, I've emailed fox news with my feelings on the way America treated GW Bush, and I haven't gotten anything from them. I hope some news network will get this message and realize that it needs to be addressed.
I am hopeful for Obama, even though I didn't vote for him. But, hopeful and supportive, but for me; our country "booing" our past president was beyound my comprehension, it was JUST UNPATRIOTIC. Everyone gets caught up in the pomp and circumstance. But, still we owed it to our outgoing President, the one that's kept our Country safe from terrorist attacks for the last 7 years, to honor him with diginity, respect, and gratitude. And for me to watch on T.V. our fellow Americans "boo" him as he left office, was "unconstituitional". Those are my thoughts and feelings, and everyone has them. But, for our Country to go on without be ammonished for this disgrace puts a damper on my feelings, my moral convictions, a damper on "JUST DO THE RIGHT THING". I am so ashamed right now, the way my Country treated the outgoing President. I think there needs to be some talk in the media, maybe a retributation to President Bush, and his wife Laura.
I'm sure my email will get deleted and disregarded, but I had to at least voice my opinion, and that's what our country is all about, voiceing our opinion. As, so many have done. Again, I am a good, Christian woman, and will stand behind our President, but I think the way our Country treated GW Bush, was unconstituitional.
