To whom it may concern,
1. Did America have a war over racism? ( I believe so )
2. Are we still dealing with racism today? ( I believe so )
So my point: On November 4 2008 we Americans voted for our new president. That evening I sat on my couch watching the election like most people and when it was announced that Mr. Obama had won, The news media went crazy. They said over and over again "The first African-American President".
3. If his parents would have been from Germany would they have said German-American or Russian-American or maybe Australian-American? ( I think not )
Why does the news media have to add fuel to the racism fire? Last time I knew Mr. Obama was American just like the rest of us. What we need to do is stop exploiting the fact that Mr. Obama is a little darker skinned than some of us.
If we are to ever be free of racism ( America land of the FREE, One nation under god ) we need to quit talking about the color of the person we elected president and start talking about what he can do to help us as Americans. Tell the media that Mr. Obama is AMERICAN not African-American but AMERICAN and that no matter where a person is from if they are a U.S citizen then they are American and nothing more.
Let's call each other brother's and sister's family and friend. When the armed forces go over seas to fight they are not fighting for just some Americans, But ALL AMERICANS.
4. When will it end?
So lets start acting like AMERICANS tell the media not to be racist!
To my fellow American Mr. Obama Good luck with you presidency. I believe you will do a wonderful job.
If you agree with my opinion please pass on.
