You are such a wonderful woman Oprah. You have inspired my life in a way you will never imagine. I feel I am what I am because you are. To miss one of your shows, I feel as if part of me is lost. I am aware of several people in my country Uganda who too admire you and have benefited magnificently from the treasures that you share. Thank you for the gift that you are. Will there ever be a time for you to come to Uganda and share face to face with some of our violently battered women? My heart weeps for them. Many of our people don't have the skills needed to begin believing in themselves and to do something about their lives. I have learned from you and have taken important and very happy choices / decisions for life. We need you to come and speak to our students at least in higher institutions of learning; to women in particular etc. I could be dreaming - but I felt I had to share something with you. I am an educator at the University level - teaching history and comparative cultures.
How can we empower ourselves so that in turn we can empower others? We are surrounded by poverty, sickness such as HIV / AIDS, parent less youths, victims of wars, drugs etc. We need your insights and extremely powerful guidance. I could be asking too much but - better said
Keep up the good work - know that we love you - You are a treasure for us.
