5 members of WAG Beijing Olympic team vying for 2012 selection!
The 2012 Olympic Trials at next week's Australian Championships, are shaping up to be a showcase of experienced talent and rising stars.
WAG gymnasts will be competing for places in the selection squad to move on to Canberra, for the final Olympic Nomination competition on 16th and 17th June.
Among the familiar faces will be five members of the Beijing Olympic team - Dasha Joura, Lauren Mitchell, Ashleigh Brennan, Georgia Bonora and Olivia Vivian. The only gymnast missing from the Beijing team is Shona Morgan who, like Olivia, is continuing her gymnastics career at College in the USA.
Another familiar face will be Chloe Sims who won the All Around Competition at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
Australia has never had so many gymnasts trialling for multiple Olympics - a great achievement for the girls, and their programs, that they are continuing in the sport at the highest level."
