To quote an e-mail from an unnamed neutral very knowlegeble source that was watching on-line ... "... I thought Mel was deserving of one of the podium spots at event finals, if not the top one. Her execution was better than Ding's ..." (and by "podium" he means top 3, and of course Ding was the winner with a 9.950 to Mel's 9.925)
Too bad RM! couldn't have stayed to watch Mel and caught a ride back on the team's flight!
