Thanks for posting this, Richard! I had missed it. BTW, just got back from Corvallis, helping LA move into her new home ... It's amazing how much stuff one girl can accumulate over 3 years at college!!!! Stopped in briefly yesterday to see her train ... only saw Stephanie there ... looks like she might be working on an upgrade on floor - maybe a double layout? Didn't ask.
LA was working on a one and a half twist dismount off beam and on bars she threw a couple of double front half dismounts that she stood up (on mat in pit). I know she has a few other skills she is hoping to upgrade with on beam, floor and bars - including her Ricna release. Her goal was to get that back in her routine for senior year. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well! Next week is summer camp so the gym will be hopping!
Chatted with the coaches a bit, yesterday, too. John, as you know, has been busy with JO camps and also recruiting trips. Michael has also been off on a number of trips ... he's hoping to visit Vancouver at the end of the month, hopefully to see some of LA's former clubmates. Tanya and Michael enjoyed their trip to Australia and things are looking really exciting out there!
The gym is sporting some new flags .... a big new USA one (of course) and then 5 other country flags, representing the countries of current and former OSU gymnasts - hung alphabetically (Michael said it was quite a dilemma to decide how to hang them!). - Australia, Canada, Mexico, Peru, and Romania (I think? for Bea?).
Most of the gals are away ... Leslie and Stephanie have been back all last week - in fact, with LA, they were the only ones in. It was an all Canada week! This week, Jeremie and Becky are back. Jen is recovering really well from her surgery and is actually ahead of schedule! Hurray! The majority of the gals will be back for camp next week, I suppose.
That's all the news I can muster right now. I sure do miss the gymnastics right now, though!
