I hope you all are well.
Today I made my second trip to the grounds of OMI, in hopes of unearthing more memorabilia. Sorry to say, no such luck. Old bullet casings is all I've found.
I recently obtained a small OMI advertisement that dates the athletic field to 1936. My plans were to again canvess that field, but the grass is already a foot high. The new highschool no longer uses or maintains it.
Good news is, I have located a few OMI items on the internet. The ad I just mentioned and a what I believe to be a WWII era officers hit pin! It's beautiful. Recently I delivered to the Community Center an even older dress hat. Pairing the two would make another nice display. With the hat, I also delivered a non-dug OMI belt buckle in wonderful condition. I was lucky to get it.
If anyone would like pictures of the OMI display at the College Hill Community Center, let me know and I can email or text pics to you. Same with my newest acquisitions, which I will also deliver to the center.
That's all for now, so until next time, be well...
