As Mr. Strayer states, it was surely near dining hall, as many utensils are literally laying on surface. Others have also searched before me. Rusted rakes and shovels are evident. Ink wells and door knobs circa 20s-30s are easily found.I believe digging deeper would produce earlier relics.
As I stated last week, on another post, I found a beautiful Sterling tie-clip. Initials are NHP. I believe it to be 1890- 1920. 5yrds from tie-clip, I unearthed a 1914 Barber dime and a "3 ringed" bullet which may date to the 1860s.
