Posted by Judy & Laney on January 21, 2007, 3:10 pm, in reply to "Re: Newborn diagnosed with cp" When Laney was an infant she was very very very tight, she could move her arms up or down or even in and her legs were so tight together, that I could barely get a diaper on her at times. With lots of help from physio, ect... Laney has come along way... Laney from the time she was born never followed developmental progress at all... She is 2.5yrs old now and her gross & fine motor they figure sit at approx. a 3-5mth old but for me that is wonderful achievements and I glady boost about my baby learning to do new things, for example, the first time Laney rolled over to her side she was 18mths old!!!!! I think it is great that your baby is following developmental progress right now and I really hope your baby continue's!!!!
We knewn right basically from the time Laney was born that she had cerebral palsy but it took the MRI to fully diagnose her.. I guess some of the signs of cerebral palsy would be tightness in the muscles, toes pointing down & curling under, piro-wetting (sorry horrible spelling), curling in hands, but I don't know if all children with cp has these signs or not, Laney had all of them.
