Posted by Judy on December 11, 2006, 9:40 pm Well, I thought I was going to #*#*#*#*# someone in the walmart parking lot this afternoon... I was getting ready to pull into a handicapped parking space and I had my signal light on ready to turn, had my sticker in the window and there was an older gentleman standing there, once I turned into my spot the man walked behind my car and then stood there and when I got out of the car, he started to scream at me, infront of everyone outside..... Dacey 5yrs Laney 2yrs dx with sev quad mixed tone cerebral palsy, GERDS, aspiration problems with recurring aspiration pneumonia, failure to thrive, asthma, reactive airway disease, seizures, J feeding tube
Please bare with my RANT I am about to post below and I really hope this has never happened to anyone else and thank you in advance for listening...........
"YOU DON'T LOOK HANDICAPPED TO ME"
so I some what politely said back.....
"PARDON ME!!!"
He nastly said by....
"YOU DON'T LOOK HANDICAPPED TO ME, AND YOU ARE VERY RUDE TO BE PARKING IN THIS SPOT"
Then I told him he should watch what he is saying and maybe if he had looked in the back of my car then he would have seen that I had a child with cerebral pasly and that could not walk, was feed threw a feeding tube, ect....... and that he had no right to talk to me like that or anyone else pulling into a handicapped parking space and that had a handcapped parking sticker and he should say sorry to my daughter that deserve the handicapped parking...... I then told him that it is handicapped parking not seniors parking aswell!!!!!
Then I flipped open my trunk to my car and pull out the paedatric wheelchair that I had in the back folded down and said
"NOW DO YOU BELIEVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I was honestly so flaming mad that I didn't even want to go shopping anymore and I keep thinking, I better not see that man in the store because I was so anger!!!!
I guess people don't realize that handicapped adult, also start off as babies and toddlers, that grow into adults and they are as much entitled to the special needs parking as any adult would be!!!!!
Anyways, RANT over thank-you for listening and I really hope none of you have ever been treated this way!!!
