Posted by Michael on December 4, 2006, 3:05 pm, in reply to "Question For OFCP Board Monitors" I have seen monitors remove posts that are not appropriate after the fact and I think that is adequate. I would like to commend them for doing so. I worry that if barriers are placed on how to access the message board and membership only required that you will loose certain members. You would loose those people who might post only once every 6 months and might need to reapply each time. You would loose those people who find the process of joining too difficult. I find that not only my home email, but even my work email is getting these kinds of foolish posts. My work has the firewalls to prevent that, but still they come. I think you just move on and ignore the posts. Just my thoughts. Thanks for all the work the monitors do in keeping this a valuable site. I have given the site to a number of clients that I work with and while they have not yet posted they enjoy viewing the site. Regards Michael
I agree that those kinds of posts are bothersome, but no more than junk mail in my mailbox. I certainly would not say I get upset about it. I think that this issue needs to be put into perspective. Our emails are filled with this kind of stuff, it is the world that we live in. I am not sure its possible to protect a space totally without some drawbacks.
