I had this surgery in 1985. I was only five years old and I had it in both of my legs. It was a lot of hard work after surgery. My mom and I moved to be closer to my physical therapist so that I could see her more everyday. I am glad that my parents had me get this sugery. It was a lot of hard work learning how to walk again but it was very good for me.
