My son had hamstring released and abductors, and hip surgery when he was 5 yrs old. Im not sure if it is the same or not or how old your daughter is. My son doesnt walk so the fact he couldnt move around didnt bother him too much but he did like to kick and he would grimace in pain. He had leg braces on for about 3 weeks that went from his knee to his ankle. He was on valium (we used to mix it in his pudding) for a little while but seemed to handle the pain quite well. Sleeping was the worst because he couldnt sleep on his side. Not sure if this helps or not. Good luck.
