Posted by Judy & Laney on September 23, 2006, 9:49 am, in reply to "Just a Question" Laney is able to commando crawl, trying to get up on all fours and can sit for short periods of time (depending on the day) for a few seconds to minutes... and this has all happened within the last few wks - mths... Laney got a feeding tube a few mths back and that is when it all changed for Laney, she was getting all her medication probably, she stopped having seizures, refluxes, ect... and she was actually able to work on her motor development for a change.. I can imagine it is hard seeing your other son cruising the couch, while your other son isn't able to at this point in time but don't worry, your son will get there but in his own time... and when he does trust me, it will be a feeling like no other... Laney did nothing until she was about 18mths old, she basically layed there on the floor also... I have a msn cp site for children with cp and there is a mom who also has twins and she experienced the same problems such as you; her sons will be two yrs old now and can sit really well now and he also has sev quad cp.... Don't give up hope!!!!! Judy & Laney 2yrs old dx with sev quad mixed tone cp, GERDS, Aspiratoin problesm with recurring aspiratoin pneumonia, failure to thrive, ashtma, reactive airway disease, seizures, & J feeding tube
My daughter is 2yrs + 3mths and has sev quad mixed tone cp... Laney is now starting to be able to do some gross motor development but it does tend to be a day to day thing, some days she is too tight to do something and other days she is not so tight.... Laney also gets sick alot and she falls back all the time in development..
