I had a hernia repair in Dec 08 and experienced a severe allergic reaction immediately - similar to what you've described. Spent 10 days in hospital. Dr. said I was allergic to antibiotic smeared on the mesh. I continue to have an itchy rash all over my body, but mostly on chest, arms, legs, and stomach area. I also now have pain in muscles, joints all over, stiffness, fatigue, have trouble concentrating. Tests ran now show inflammation somewhere and possible rheumatoid problems. I'm wondering if the mesh has caused the problem and until it's removed, I'll only get worse.
