I just had an umbilical hernia repaired with mesh a few days ago. I had hives that were initially localized at the site and they have now migrated over my entire body, including my face. I am short of breath, itchy and also have watery eyes. I also have congested sinuses. I was pretty shocked to find a message board via google of thousands of people reporting adverse reactions to surgical meth. I am even more shocked that this site, that seems to be run by medical professionals, claims that surgical mesh cannot be rejected. I should have been advised of these risks by my dr. before this procedure was performed. What I find really strange is thousands of people reporting problems and complications after their mesh was implanted and their dr.s refusing to even acknowledge that the mesh could even be the cause. Then there are probably thousands of people that are sick that have no clue that their mesh is the root of their illness.
