Someone earlier wrote about the abundance of New Warrior appearances strewn throughout the pages of the Civil War books. When at first I heard they were going to kill off my favorite team I was more than a little peeved, but they have handled the team in such a way as to leave a lot of hope for the future of The New Warriors. Keeping Speedball alive has kept me coming back for every part of the Civil War storyline and with the exception of Namorita, NightThrasher and (who cares?) Microbe... it looks pretty reasonable that we could see a beefed up New Warriors team eventually returning to the Marvel U. Of course I would love to have a New "New Warriors" book eventually but you know what? I'm actually having fun seeing all these cameos of the team as they each individually try to cope with what is happening in the wake of their previous disbandment! Each new Civil War crossover issue is like a New Warrior easter egg hunt. You never know when you're going to flip a page and see a familiar face. I'm loving this ride! It was especially cool to see
*spoiler*
Namorita's Atlantis avengers turn blue after ditching their disguises, since the whole blue Atlantean thing started with the Warriors! A New Warriors nod in the pages of Wolverine!? *spoiler*
This is great so far and I am in it for the long haul.
(As long as they keep Speedball alive!) Is anyone else out there sharing my excitement or what!?
