Have posted multiple times on this site. Son is almost 8 and on Prednisolone for last 14 months. Every time we tried to taper, he has relapsed. He was also on Cytoxan for 10 weeks (Aug-Oct). We started homeopathy / naturopathy in October. We are hopeful they will work over time. Found a Canada-trained ND in Lafeyette Indiana. The doctor analyzed the case pretty well and gave us homeopathic medicine. He is very well renowned doctor in india. It worked very well for us and the problem had gone. My daughter was having Minimal type of NS. It was 3 years back. I posted here at that time and some one contacted me and they went to India and got the medicine and their kid (MCNS) is also in remission for last 1.5 years and no relapse. But one has to go there with patient and the doctor has to see the patient. And also, remember that each case is different and one should stop using prednisone and any anti-biotics if they are taking homeopathic medicine. If you are interested to know, please let me know and I will give more details. He is now 15 and doing beautifully. We started seeing a naturopath who practices classical homeopathy when my son was about 5 yrs old. When we first started with the naturopath my son was on a combination of 13 different meds. After working with the naturopath for approx 2 yrs he was off all meds and in a med free remission for 3 years. Then puberty struck and he started relapsing again. We still see the naturopath and my son is currently on cellcept and 5mg of prednisone alternate days. The naturopath used many different homeopathic remedies on our son along with other alternative meds. There's no way to state what homeopathic meds will help your child because homeopathy deals with individuals so what worked for my son may not work for yours and what works for yours might not work for mine. I would suggest finding a licensed naturopath who practices classical homeopathy. Here in Canada, all naturopaths must be licensed. I would not suggest just seeing a homeopath because that is all they practise. A naturopath does all sorts of things. We have successfully combined traditional meds with alternatives and so far my son is doing great. We were told when he was dignosed to expect a transplant within 8 yrs of diagnosis. It has been 13 yrs and all is well and good. We used a lot of homeopathic treatments for him under the care of a licensed homeopathic physician who is also a licensed medical doctor. During the past year he has had a kidney transplant and he is not currently using any homeopathic treatments. Let us know what your questions are and we will help if we can. It depends on what your son's symptoms are. My son took numerous homeopathic medicines but all were for specific symptoms he was having and the types and amounts were prescribed by a physician. We do think they helped with his blood pressure, cholesterol level, and overall stamina. He had very few colds, flus, or infections while on the homeopathic formulas. However, they did not help him stop spilling protein and therefore his FSGS did progress to ESRD. There again, you must realize this was just our own experience and every case is very different. Our son had a transplant last August and is not taking any homeopathic meds at this time. During the time our son took homeopathic meds. he was off all of the traditional meds. such as prednisone, cyclosporine, etc. He was very stable and very healthy for 5 years (he had been very sick when we began our search for other types of treatments available). I hope some of this information will be helpful. I wish I could tell you to just get some certain meds. and that they should help him but I don't think that is the case. I would encourage you to find a reputable homeopathic physician to help your son. Please let me know if I can be of any furthur assistance.
