Posted by RalucaMac Owen is now 3 1/2 and was diagnosed a year ago. He is responding well to prednisone but he is dependent on it, as long as he is on prednisone he stays negative, once off he has a relapse. He is on steroids now and he is negative, he will finish treatment on December. If he will relapse, next is Cytoxan treatment. Barb, thank you for answering to my message, how is your daughter doing on Cytoxan, for how long the doctor intends to keep her on Cytoxan? I hope she will be cured by it. My doctor told me 2/3 of children get cured with Cytoxan, meaning will not have a relapse for 2,3 years. It does not mean it will not come back... For my son, the most frustrating side effects are, he is more aggressive and agitated, also he did not grow as much in 1 year, he grew 1/2 of what he was supposed to grow. I have another son, he is 2 years old. I have never tested his urine and doctors told me not to "go fishing" if no symptoms. Cassey, Shannon, Rosemarie, a few names I have seen with recent postings, I wish you and your little ones the best. I was born in Romania, I have lived 8 years in Canada, Montreal, QC and past 5 years in USA, Manhattan Beach, CA. Good luck, Raluca (Owen)

I have posted back in September and have not seen much activity on this website since. I am sorry that more kids are being diagnosed with this disease but I am happy in the same time that I can talk to parents with kids in the same condition as my son.
