Posted by lilsea We did 6 weeks of prednisone, enalapril was added because it's known to reduce proteins in the urine and she also had elevated pressures. A few weeks ago we ended up in the hospital as she was retaining fluid. She was put on fluid restriction and lasix was added to her med mix. Last week we started to lower her prednisone, as the week before cytoxan was added, because she didn't respond to the prednisone. The dr wanted to get her off of pred. so we started reducing it from 9mL twice a day to once a day. This past Tuesday, her proteins were 4 plus and we had to go to the hospital again for iv steroids. She was put on fluid restriction again, was getting lasix as well as her regular meds. She had her kidney biopsy yesterday, so our next appt is Friday and we'll find out exactly what's going on. I look forward to getting to know you all. This is my first experience with this, I've never even heard of it until dd was diagnosed. Barb

Hi all. I'm so happy to have found this place. My daughter was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome this past July. She has been a very healthy kid up until her well visit. Her annual blood work was done and her cholesterol came back at 446, and there was blood and protein in her urine.
