I just wanted to put in print what a fine job the hosts and the organizers did with the Provincial championships in Meadows this year. The school certainly went out of its way to treat everyone well.
It was a great turnout of players (115 I think) so a high percentage of qualifiers did play.
The soundproofing between all the rooms set aside for parents and non-players and the gym was excellent. The PA system worked well and the microphone in the gym for early announcements worked perfectly. I even understand the soup and stew in the kitchen was good. The only downside was the long trip for Tim Horton's (joking).
The registration went smoothly thanks to Chris Dawson and kudos to Darrell Drover for his work as TD. The pace of rounds never faltered. Even the awards at the end ran smoothly (except for the one broken trophy which got fixed).
The weather co-operated for the people travelling from east and central.
The only missing element was Bob Gregory who was sorely missed.
All in all a great experience.
Best regards,
Bruce
