Thursday 8/1 A wooden wreck we had been trying to get to for awhile Surface viz was very bad to go along with the swell and slight chop from the steady 15 knot wind. Bottom viz was maybe 5 ft but very warm at 60*. It looked as if this wreck had just been hit, many fresh holes that should have held lobster were empty. The haul today would be only 4 fluke and nothing very big (Thanks to King Konger). Not the best day diving but any day on the water spent with friends is a good day.
Friday 8/2 Capt Bill's choice (and a good one at that) Today we would have 2 of our regulars who would be joined by a brand new Jersey diver. What great conditions and day for a new Jersey diver. Surface water very clear, no seas to talk about and no current either. Viz on the bottom was very good at 20-25 ft+ and the same 60* from the day before. Shortly after tying in I shot my first Fluke and 3 others swam away while I was stringing it. 4 good sized Fluke would be the haul today with another decent Sea Bass to round out the catch. Our new diver was a little apprehensive right at the time she was about to drop in for number one, but needed a little prodding to end her dive by her buddy. Our new Diver will be enjoying a 5 week stint in Little Cayman as a project for school.........dang why didn't they do that stuff when I was in school. Great day diving and everyone seemed to have fun.
Saturday 8/3 A return to Capt Bill's Choice of the day before (conditions were that good!) Today we would have the "Killing Crew" aboard to see what some real hunters could do. Conditions not as great as the day before but still good none the less. Everyone aboard got fish to include Fluke, Sea Bass and Tog. Pawel would be the big game hunter today by landing what looked like the biggest stringer so far this year. A very big haul today and some great diving. A big Thank You to Capt Bill for limping out today even though we had an Impeller issue and had to run on one engine.
Capt Bill had to call Sunday because of the Impeller issue, which should be resolved as of this posting.
We have divers for Thursday and need a few more (Sea Bass Season ends on Friday) The Thursday guys want to concentrate on Sea Bass and have a great idea where we can go.
We have divers for Saturday and need a few more for that day as well.
As of now Friday and Sunday are wide open.
Conditions have been very good and water temps are warm enough for wet suits.
If you wanna get wet give the shop a call @ 610-631-2288
