Friday the 12th – OPEN – Lobsters/Fish These dives will be 100 or less and focus on fish and lobsters. There is room on the Friday boat. To reserve your spot call me at 201-401-4608
Saturday the 13th – No-Gills – Algol 130’ The Algol was a Navy transport ship that had a long and successful service career from World War II to the Cuban Missile Crisis. After lying in the mothball fleet at Norfolk for some twenty years, she was transferred to the New Jersey Artificial Reef Program and sunk with little fanfare, unlike the much-hyped (and not much bigger) Spiegel Grove in Florida. The Algol is completely intact, upright, and huge. It would take several trips to fully explore it, without doing any penetrations. A good dive can be had on this wreck at almost any depth you want, from the top of the superstructure at 70 ft to the main deck at 110 ft to the sand at 140 ft. Since its sinking, currents have scoured out a hole around the hull that is significantly deeper than the 125 ft of the surrounding area. To reserve your spot contact Kevin Abbot at 609-352-5983 Sunday the 14th - Lakeland Divers- Stolt In that the Lakeland dive to the Stolt on June 30th blew-out they’ve added a dive to their schedule to accommodate their divers. The wreck of the Stolt is very impressive, even though now greatly deteriorated. The smokestack, mast, and much of the upper works have fallen away. Visibility is usually good, sometimes good enough to see the top of the wreck from the surface, and the sight of this huge wreck when it first looms into view as you descend the anchor line is extraordinary. There is something awesome about this shipwreck that is somehow lacking in the nearby planned artificial reefs. The Stolt is always a popular destination and fills fast. If you’re interested call Cindy at Lakeland 973-887-0194 and reserve your spot. Lakeland as space available. Next Week
This week we will only be running Sunday the 21st however the following week we’re again going to try to put together another five days in a row. Hopefully the weather will co-operate
Sunday the 21st – Lakeland Divers - New Diver Special – Extra hands will be onboard to make your first North Atlantic experience a pleasant and memorable one. These dives normally go out to one of the many tugs on either the Sea Girt or Axle Carlson reef at about 65 feet. For additional information contact Cindy at Lakeland 973-887-0194

NOTE: One thing to keep in mind is that OPEN destinations are really just suggestions on my part, unless the trip is scheduled as a “Special” but If you have somewhere you want to get to let me know and if we have the divers and the weather that’s where we’ll head.
ATTENTION We have established a diver’s e-mail list. This is where I post trip reports and of course up-coming dives If you’d like to be included send the message “please add me to the SEA LION diver list” to sealion@atlantic-wreckdivers.com
Lakeland has let me know they only have one or two spots left for their dive on Sunday the 14th to the Stolt. The current forecast is for excellent conditions. If you want to get on the dive give Cindy at Lakeland a call 973-887-0194
