With a load of hunters aboard with some new and old faces, Capt Bill would again run south hoping to beat the crowds and the south wrecks have been very productive lately for fish and bugs. We had another Capt aboard today and Capt Bill was able to chill out and observe the ocean from a different orientation than normal. 20 or so minute run later we were on site and found our diver dealing with a bit of current. Today would be an interesting day to say the least. One of those very confused days when the ocean and sky have different plans. A solid 20 knot wind from a generally westerly direction would have all the flags snapping pretty darn good and a strong northerly current that would have the Carolina rig way under the boat today.Surface viz was crap until you got down to the bottom and then it opened up really nice to about 20ft. Bottom temps again would hover right around 60*. The very good spearfishing and bugging would again show up. Cooler would again be a load to get off the boat at days end. At least a half dozen bugs and many Sea bass would be the haul today. Even considering the current a good day was had by all. Even one of our hardier divers would express being tired at the end of the day. Hopefully the stable weather pattern forecasted will let the ocean settle down a little.
We have 4 or 5 for this Thursday and are a go, could use another diver or two. Have interest in Friday, Saturday and Sunday but need more divers to make it a go.

Was that 60 bottom temp, or did you mean 50? We had 52 last weekend.

Actually, one of the divers had 61*.......3 had 60*........I meant 60* I can't remember the last time anyboday had 52*. We had mid 50's in March and April...and only a couple occasions did we have anything under upper 40's and that was usually after a storm. This season I think temps have been better than any year I can remember......no snow melt and very good winter temps have combined to make the diving great for this time of year

The only temps I recorded this season below 50* were: 12/31 - 47*-48* 3/12 - 45* 4/16 - 46*
