Wednesday the 15th – OPEN - 0800 departure – Lobsters and Fish 100> - I’ve listed this as a hunting trip but again destinations are subject to change based on the desires of those on-board. The weather forecast looks great and I have the crew I need. Now if we can find just a couple of more divers we'll be good to go. Saturday the 18th – OPEN – Emerald 80’ - The "Emerald" wreck is probably the Hibiscus, a wood-hulled twin-screw steamer built in 1864 and commissioned into the U.S. Navy at that time. She saw service during the Civil War out of Tampa and Key West Florida. She was decommissioned in 1866 and sold in New York; later renamed Francis Wright, then renamed back to Hibiscus. While cruising off the New Jersey coast she broke a propeller shaft, took on water, and sank. Sunday the 19th – Tom’s River Flea Market - I’ll be at the Flea Market handing out the finalized 2012 schedules. Stop by and say Hi.
NOTE: One thing to keep in mind is that winter destinations are really just suggestions on my part, unless the trip is scheduled as a “Special” but If you have somewhere you want to get to let me know and if we have the weather and the divers that’s where we’ll head. Next Week
I may try to get a head start on my maintenance so these dives may not go, unless of course the weather’s good and I get a bunch of calls, in which case we’ll be going diving.
Saturday the 25th – OPEN – Mohawk 80’ - The Mohawk is always a good dive with something for everyone, whether you’re into lobsters and fish, artifacts, photography or just sightseeing. Sunk January 24th 1935 after colliding with the MV Talisman do to failure of the Mohawks steering gear.
Sunday the 26th – OPEN – Captain’s choice less than 100’ – Although I’m certainly open to suggestions I have a spot or two in mind that I’d like to put a diver or two on. 2012 SEA LION schedule The 2012 SEA LION charter schedule is posted on the web site www.atlantic-wreckdivers.com . Although I have confirmations from pretty much all of the charters be aware that the schedule “may” change slightly but if you’re looking to plan your 2012 diving season now’s the time.
Atlantic City 2012 If you’ve already taken a look at the 2012 schedule on the web site you’ve seen that we are again going to be running out of Kammerman’s Marina from the middle of May till the first week in June. Along with the trips we had listed for those dates I’ve added a Varanger trip and will be running down to Cape May for a couple of days to hit the City of Athens with the dredge.
Captain Al SEA LION
We have established a diver’s e-mail list and if you’d like to be included send the message “please add me to the SEA LION diver list” to sealion@atlantic-wreckdivers.com
come on... somebody besides the one diver I have on board must want to go diving on a day with 2 foot seas going to one foot or less in the afternoon, partly sunny and 49 degrees
