Ok here is the deal - The Gypsyblood went to the Mohawk today - it was flat as a lake, the sun was out and it was very warm in the sun - I was on the bow with Capt Jim messing with my wreck reel which was attached to two anchors on the bottom but a leaky lift bag was making it an annoyingly complicated day - All of a sudden Capt Jim says he sees something in the water - i of course dont expect to see anything - Sure enough, it was this bird flying under water like a penguin that was trying to get in the boat - Its a little Murrelet i think, black and white - Anyway at the stern, Capt Jim was trying to rescue it by hitting it with a 5 gallon pail. Alex was taking photos of it and i was just trying to grab it - somehow the bird got in the pail and it is obvious its little right lower extremity is fractured - - the bird itself is full of life and can swim fine it just cant get up on anything floating and it cant fly I think it needs it two legs to get up enough speed to take off - If you put your hand in the bucket it scrunches up its face, opens it mouth and tries to bite you its the scrunching of the face when its mad that made Capt Jim think it looked like someone we know. Anyway the little guy is now swimming around in my bathtub which is fine but no one else can use it Personally, naming the bird DeNice seems a little inappropriate but Capt Jim is in charge, if he says the nasty bird that bites looks like DeNice then it looks like DeNice!
Does anyone know someone or someplace that takes care of these DeNice marine birds with broken legs? I have a hard time making sure gas get in the car and am told repeatedly, I am not capable of taking care of children, dogs and now angry DeNice birds. Please no stupid replies about the boats microware oven or the back tires of someones truck. If I let it go in the inlet I am afraid the Seagulls that live on top of the Gypsyblood will stop vomiting, crapping, having sex, will come down and eat the little guy To keep in the holiday spirit, I will even gift wrap the little F-er for you. Please can someone help me out? Thanxs That is all The Bartman-mosb
