Dina Dee to Yellow Flag

The Dina Dee out of Barnegat Light headed for the Yellow Flag on Saturday (well, actually we headed for the Gulf Trade Bow, but a boat was on it). Wow, what a nice day. Calm, calm seas, plenty of sun and clear surface viz to 30 to 40 feet. The bottom at 80 feet was more typical NJ diving with visibility at 15 - 20 feet. Looked like someone had hit the wreck fairly recently as there were a lot of empty lobster holes. But a number of bugs came up (Captain George got a really nice one) as well as sea bass, flounder and cod. Bottom was 50 or 52 degrees (my two identical computers are always two degrees apart) and the hang was in nice warm water in the 60's. While the water was clear, a lot of jellyfish and marine larvae were floating by during the hang (floating by very slowly as there was no noticeable current). |
Two dives and back in time for lunch. About as nice as it gets.
