- sea bass

Couldn't decide on what header to use but since sea bass is still on my mind figured what the heck. Sunday we dove the emerald. Like everyone else posted 50 ft of surface vis with only 15 ft on the bottom. Some nice lobsters, trigger fish and of course some "junkue" although nothing really cool as we've had in the past. The thing that was crazy was the sea bass. They blanketed the wreck, mostly big hump heads. Since we were about 7 miles off none were taken. They were so thick the guys had to chase them out of the way to get at the triggers. I did take some heat from the guys over not letting them take any but depite my lack of suport of this "law" i won't let the guys break it. Back at the dock by 11.30. Sweet day. Capt. Bill and the crew of the Tunaseazure

Yeah and it was probably carpeted with door mat size fluke interspersed with fat winter flounder. Wonder why the bottom vis went to Hell?

That was last year . The divers only saw one fluke but a nice one. But no b.s. about the sea bass, The divers even claimmed they followed them around. I guess they (the sea bass) got the email from the feds. Capt. Bill

The fluke where we were were all over the place......doormats most of them. A lot of flounder too. Some very substantial flatties. The sea bass were some of the biggest I have ever seen. Really don't want to name the spot we dived (dove??) unless the captain gives me the OK to do so first.

It was a sea of large sea bass. You all know the ones that are big w/ bump and smart. Usually the ones you have to out smart to spear. The crazy thing was they came right up to you. It is like they could tell they were safe. As I floated in and out of the school I felt as one with the large fish. Then the trigger fish arrived. End of story. Boy do they taste great. b###h to filet but taste great.
