What the previous message seems to say is that it applies to female lobsters only. Maybe it's not THAT bad an idea.On the other hand, it's still a stupid rule. A diver, with luck, can spend half an hour a few times a week trying to catch lobsters. A commercial fisherman can set hundreds of traps that are active around the clock.
I understand that lobstermen have to work as hard as anyone else to earn a living, but limiting the recreational taking of lobster by divers to increase the lobster population is like ending world terrorism by putting Sadam Hussein in prison. (sorry, couldn't resist).
You have to address the commercial fishing industry that harvests thousands of the things, not the guy who, with a little luck, might grab two or three on a day that comes maybe once a week, more likely once a month.
